PATNA: The Bihta police seized an abandoned truck carrying several drums of spirit from Sikandarpur village under Bihta police station on Saturday.
SDPO (Danapur) Anil Kumar said that acting on a tip-off, a Bihta police team carried out a raid at Sikandarpur village and seized an abandoned truck carrying 22 drums of spirit meant for manufacturing liquor. He said that local police are trying to find out owner of the truck.
Arrest: Khagaul police arrested one Avind Kumar from Ranchi in connection with a land scam worth Rs 5 crore. About half-a-dozen persons are involved in the scam.
According to Khagaul police station SHO Chandra Prakash Singh, Kumar, who is engaged in building construction business, had claimed he had got registered about two acres of land in the name of Khagaul branch DAV School.
However, on verification of the papers, it came to light that the land registration documents were fake. An FIR was lodged with the Khagaul police station in the case naming Kumar as the main accused. Since then he had been absconding, the SHO said, adding police arrested him in Ranchi and brought him over to Khagaul on Saturday.
